What you get

Everything you'd want to know
before you bid

We gather bid results from hundreds of public agencies every day, clean up every company name, and put it all in one place — so you stop digging through bid boards and PDFs.

Bid alerts

Pick your trades, counties and job size. We email you new open bids every morning — or every hour on Pro — with due dates and estimates.

Every past result

Who bid on each job, the exact amounts, how far over the low bid everyone landed, the engineer's estimate, and who won.

Competitor tracking

Follow your rivals. Get an email when they bid or win, see their win rate, where they bid, and how you stack up head to head.

Know the agency

How many companies usually bid an agency's jobs, how far under the estimate the low bid lands, and who keeps winning there.

Contracts ending soon

State and federal contracts with end dates, so you hear about the job months before it's re-bid — and who holds it today.

Weekly market report

Every Monday: who won in your trade and county, how many bid, and how low the winning bids came in. Print it or forward it.

Questions

Good questions

Do I need to be technical to use this?

No. You sign in with your email, pick your trades and counties, and the alerts come to your inbox. Everything else is point-and-click. (Developers who want the raw data can use the API on the Team plan.)

Where does the data come from?

Public records. We read the bid results California public agencies publish on their bid boards (PlanetBids, OpenGov, Bonfire and others), agency bid-result pages and bid summaries, Caltrans bid results, the State's purchasing records and federal award data. We also archive results that bid boards take down after a few weeks.

How fresh is it?

We check the bid boards around the clock. New results usually show up within a day of the agency posting them, and alerts go out on your schedule.

Who "won" — is that just the low bidder?

We only call someone the winner when the agency says so. Otherwise we show the low bid. Public work usually goes to the lowest responsive bidder, but not always, so we keep the two apart.

Which trades and agencies are covered?

All trades — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, paving, water and sewer, building, landscaping, janitorial, painting and more — from cities, counties, school and college districts, universities, utilities, transit agencies, the State and federal buyers in California.

Can I cancel or switch plans?

Yes, anytime from your account. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of what you paid for, then drop to the free plan.

For developers

Want the data in your own software?

The Team plan includes a simple API — the same bid results, contractors, agencies and contracts, as JSON — plus webhooks for your alerts.
